Hello LandMark

What types of industrial activities are prohibited?

Prohibited Activities in Light Industrial Zones (M1 / I-1 / LI)
Light industrial areas restrict activities that generate excessive noise, pollution, or hazards to ensure compatibility with nearby commercial or residential developments.

  • Heavy manufacturing such as steel mills or chemical plants
  • Storage or use of explosive or flammable materials
  • Operations involving significant emissions, toxic waste, or high traffic volumes

Prohibited Activities in General Industrial Zones (M2 / I-2 / GI)
Although more flexible, medium industrial zones still restrict activities that pose severe environmental or safety risks or require extensive regulatory oversight.

  • Slaughterhouses or meat rendering plants
  • Nuclear material processing or disposal
  • Large-scale landfills or hazardous waste incineration

Prohibited Activities in Heavy Industrial Zones (M3 / I-3 / HI)
Even in the most permissive industrial zones, certain high-risk or incompatible uses may be banned to ensure regional safety, environmental standards, or land use alignment.

  • Residential developments and public facilities like schools or hospitals
  • Open-air burning or uncontrolled emissions release
  • Unlicensed handling of radioactive, biohazardous, or illegal substances
